Dr. Sidney Rabinowitz brings over three decades of experience—and the rare distinction of triple board certification—to his role as a compassionate, highly skilled plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Board certified in general surgery, plastic surgery, and hand and microsurgery, Dr. Rabinowitz’s extensive training reflects his deep commitment to medical excellence and patient care.
As the Director of Plastic Surgery at Valley Hospital, he leads with a focus on innovation, quality, and patient-centered care. Dr. Rabinowitz is constantly utilizing new and cutting-edge technologies to provide the most up-to-date care, offering state-of-the-art procedures that prioritize both function and aesthetic outcomes.
Known for his precision and compassion, Dr. Rabinowitz brings a rare level of specialization and dedication to every case—from complex nerve repairs to tendon injuries, fractures, and reconstruction. With every patient, he takes the time to listen carefully, answer questions thoroughly, and build a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs and goals. His approach blends the art and science of surgery—ensuring comfort, optimal function, and improved quality of life at every stage of care.
Dr. Rabinowitz completed his undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis and earned his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. His extensive surgical training includes:
- General Surgery Residency and Chief Residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn
- Plastic Surgery Residency and Chief Residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
- Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center
- Two-year Research Fellowship at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rabinowitz serves as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
