Fifteen Years of Data: Dr. Alex Xu Leads Landmark Study on Continence After Radical Prostatectomy

In a study published in The Journal of Urology, Alex J. Xu, MD, and colleagues report findings from a prospective, 15-year longitudinal study examining urinary continence in nearly 2,000 men following open retropubic radical prostatectomy. The study found that continence rates, while declining gradually over time, remained comparable to those seen in the general aging population, offering patients a valuable long-term perspective on what to expect after surgery.
