A penile prosthesis (PP) is an internal medical device designed to help men achieve an erection when erectile dysfunction (ED) does not respond to medications or other therapies. ED can affect confidence, intimacy, and quality of life, especially when caused by nerve injury, prior surgery, or long-standing vascular issues. A penile prosthesis offers a long-term, reliable solution that restores both function and confidence.
The device consists of three components:
- Cylinders placed inside the penis
- A fluid reservoir in the lower abdomen
- A pump discreetly located in the scrotum
When activated by the patient, the pump transfers fluid into the cylinders to create an erection; pressing the release valve returns the penis to a flaccid state.
At The Institute, PP placement is performed with microsurgical precision and nerve-preserving techniques to maximize comfort, natural appearance, and confidence.
