The Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey has announced the opening of a new office in Cape May Court House. It will be the 12th office of the practice, and the first one featuring specialized cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery services in that area.
In addition to all standard cosmetic and reconstructive services, the new office is the only one in the area to feature breast reconstruction surgery for cancer patients using the advanced DIEP flap technique. DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) technique is a technically more demanding procedure that utilizes the patient’s own tissue but also has the benefit of not requiring use of abdominal muscle tissue.
This office also features skin cancer surgery, which is important in light of the fact that Cape May County has the highest skin cancer rate in the state.
Previously, patients had to travel to Atlantic City for a variety of plastic surgery services. The Cape May office also offers the convenience of onsite procedures at The AtlantiCare Surgery Center, devoted exclusively to same-day surgery.
The office, located at 106 Court House, South Dennis Rd, is part of the AtlantiCare Health Park located at the Cape May Court House Campus. AtlantiCare is the region’s largest healthcare organization.
Dr. Adam Saad is on staff at the Cape May office. Dr. Saad performs all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Saad, a New Jersey native, did his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Louisiana State University (LSU) in New Orleans. While there he acquired a significant amount of experience in microsurgery, especially with regard to the DIEP flap for breast reconstruction, which was pioneered at LSU. Dr. Saad also specializes in fat grafting, as well as advanced reconstructive microsurgery of the face and hand.
