Nirvana Saraswat, MD

Board-Eligible Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Saraswat is a board-certified general surgeon and board-eligible plastic and reconstructive surgeon with advanced training in microsurgical techniques. He specializes in complex reconstructive and aesthetic procedures, including breast reconstruction after cancer, soft tissue repair after trauma or oncologic surgery, and lymphedema intervention. With a dual foundation in trauma and critical care, Dr. Saraswat offers an individualized, holistic approach to surgical care – balancing technical excellence with a strong commitment to patient-centered outcomes.

Dr. Saraswat combines the precision of microsurgical technique with an artistic eye, offering natural, lasting results for the face, breast, and body. He is trained in robotic-assisted microsurgery, cutting-edge breast reconstruction including DIEP, PAP, GAP, and TUG flaps, and advanced facial aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Saraswat began his medical journey at just 17 years of age when he was accepted into the only accelerated 6-year B.S./M.D. program in Ohio. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Akron and went on to earn his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2017.

He then returned to his hometown of Columbus to complete a rigorous 5-year General Surgery residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital. During residency, he received multiple honors including:

He completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship under the guidance of world-renowned surgeons Dr. Kongkrit Chaiyasate, Dr. John Felder, and Dr. Jesse Selber in Greater Detroit, Michigan. He trained in microsurgery at the top-ranked hospital within Michigan’s largest healthcare system, further honing his skills in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
