Fellowship-Trained Reconstructive Surgeon

Dr. Nicholas De Leo is a fellowship-trained reconstructive surgeon specializing in microsurgery, breast reconstruction, limb salvage, peripheral nerve procedures, and complex reconstructive surgery. 

Dr. De Leo completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he received rigorous training in all aspects of plastic surgery, including elective reconstruction and high-acuity trauma care, as well as aesthetic surgery. As chief fellow, develop the educational curriculum for the year, as well as organized multiple practical learning experiences, including microsurgical, facial fracture, and breast reconstruction laboratories. Throughout his fellowship, he worked closely with orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery and trauma teams to help restore form and improve functional outcomes for patients facing complex injuries and conditions.

Prior to fellowship, Dr. De Leo completed his general surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital and served as both Chief Resident and Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. His general surgical training at Cooper included rigorous training in surgical oncology, thoracic surgery, open and minimally invasive hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, and surgical critical care and trauma surgery.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. De Leo has contributed to research focused on reconstructive surgery, wound healing, regenerative medicine, and surgical outcomes. His work has been presented at national and regional surgical meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Originally from Philadelphia and an avid sports fan, Dr. De Leo brings a grounded and thoughtful, patient-centered, team-based approach to care and is committed to helping patients regain function, mobility, and quality of life through advanced reconstructive surgery.
