Francesco Gargano, MD, PhD, FACS
Dr. Gargano is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, who specializes in pediatric craniofacial surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
He has extensively trained around the world and is committed to healing through individualized care. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Dr. Gargano received his medical degree from the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy, graduating magna cum laude. He continued his education at Sapienza University where he earned his PhD in Plastic Surgery, Human Anatomy and Dermatology, and completed his first residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
A desire to further his education brought Dr. Gargano to the United States where he completed an integrated residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Brown University. Dr. Gargano went on to complete a combined Hand Surgery Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center and NYU Medical Center as well as a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital, where he perfected his expertise as a pediatric plastic surgeon.
Over the course of his training and medical practice, Dr. Gargano has pioneered breakthrough treatment modalities. He pioneered the Yin-Yang Technique for breast reduction and the SUFA Technique for debilitating contracted burn scars. Dr. Gargano has also published numerous medical studies covering various facets of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Gargano travels multiple times a year with Operation Smile repairing facial deformities around the world. A devout man, Francesco decided to pursue medicine after an encounter with Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
