Chris Devulapalli, MD
Dr. Chris Devulapalli is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He offers a wide array of plastic and reconstructive procedures with particular focus in breast reconstruction for cancer patients, microsurgery, lymphedema surgery, and aesthetic breast surgery.
Dr. Devulapalli received his undergraduate degree at University of Delaware, graduating summa cum laude, and went on to attend medical school at Thomas Jefferson University/ Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He then went to complete his general surgery and plastic surgery training at the prestigious Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. At Georgetown, he learned from internationally recognized experts in plastic surgery, particularly in field of breast reconstruction, complex microsurgical reconstruction, and aesthetic breast surgery. His extensive training with experts in the field, enables him to offer the most cutting-edge surgical techniques.
Dr. Devulapalli is also dedicated to advancing the field of plastic surgery and been invited to speak at national and international conferences. He has over 30 abstracts and publications in peer reviewed journals. He completed a clinical research fellowship at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was awarded an academic research grant by the Plastic Surgery Foundation, to investigate alternative pain control regimens to optimize the recovery in breast cancer patients undergoing reconstruction.
This holistic and unique experience has given him the complete tool set to provide care for the breast cancer patient. His areas of special interest includes state-of-the-art breast reconstruction using natural tissue, restoring sensation after mastectomy, direct to implant reconstruction, and optimizing the postoperative recovery process novel enhanced recovery and pain protocols.
He ultimately believes in a shared decision-making process between physician and patient to come up with the best surgery, in both form and function, that tailors to each individual’s unique lifestyle.
